Happy 4th of July week friends! It’s taken forever for summer (and spring) to arrive! This spring, we were busy revamping our deck. Since we moved in 2 years ago, the deck was an eyesore. “Up North” in a Day

Good day friends!

I hope everyone’s having a great week. Last week my husband and I returned home from a three week vacation in the UK. We’ve planned and prepared ourselves for this trip for so long and it went even better than we expected. That’s one of the main reason’s the blog went quiet for a moment. But it’s SUMMER now in Michigan and time to use this precious season wisely!

I’m sharing a recent day trip we took just before our UK trip. We used the PERFECT weather experienced in April (the weekend when the temperatures soared to early June temps) to grab some adventurous friends and make it up north. We intended to start out in Traverse City and end up at Pyramid Point. We accomplished a lot during this one day and I feel, we spent quality time in each spot. … More “Up North” in a Day

Sleeping Bear Dunes & Frankfort

I’m getting so excited for National Parks week towards the end of April! Mark your calendar’s folks! This year the National Parks Service is giving us free admission to ALL national parks in the country on April 15-16 and 22-23 and this year, like last year, Tony and I are planning a day trip to the Sleeping Bear Dunes. This time we’re planning on taking a few of our friends who are interested in adding more adventure into their weekend plans.

Visiting the SBD every April may become an annual tradition for us. Last year was the first time Tony and I ever visited and we were amazed at how big the park is. It includes all the dunes as well as the historic town of Glen Haven, the Port Oneida Rural Historic District, three former Coast Guard stations, as well as both the North and South Manitou islands. … More Sleeping Bear Dunes & Frankfort

Want to warm up? Go to Hell!

Hi friends! And, uh… Hell Michigan, that is. No guarantee it’s hot when you visit! The lovely warm spring day yesterday had me reminiscing about our journey to Hell last year. I’ve wanted to visit the small town of Hell for a long time due to its name. When I suggested to Tony we check out Hell, he had no fear and said lets go! Hell is a small town with limited entertainment and activities so if traveling from the West Michigan region, it’s easy to combine a day trip to Hell with a hike around one of many lakes and trails in the region or explore a little bit of Lansing before heading home. … More Want to warm up?
